Al-Qaeda Statements Index

This index was developed as a research tool in studying Al-Qaeda.  The index was created by Nicholas Sher, Haverford College class of 2010, and updated by Katie Drooyan, Haverford College class of 2011, under the direction of Assistant Professor of Political Science Barak Mendelsohn.  This research was undertaken in support of Prof. Mendelsohn’s courses, particularly Pols. 358: The War on Terrorism and Pols. 244: The Evolution of the Jihadi Movement.

This index includes all all statements from the leadership of the Al-Qaeda organization since 2001 that are known to be available online or that are in Prof. Mendelsohn's possession, as well as additional statements from Osama bin Laden dating back to 1994.  Authors include Osama bin Laden, Ayman al-Zawahiri and others, and the Qaedat al-Jihad, Al-Qaeda in Iraq, and Global Islamic Media Front organizations.
